The ultimate return on investment is quality of life

All of us at Meritage appreciate our good fortune to be a part of a successful business and live in a community that truly comes together to help those who are less fortunate.

Our associates are encouraged to be involved with charitable organizations of their choice as well as participate in firm-wide initiatives. Our natural investment work brings us into contact with multiple not-for-profit organizations, giving us entre to support missions that address homelessness, mentoring, developmental disabilities, education, hunger, medical emergencies, and universal diseases like Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s.

After several years of supporting the Annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s, we decided to step up our involvement this year. Our reasons are twofold.

First, like many, we have been touched directly through the relationships we have built with individuals and families for over 25 years. We have seen all too often someone’s future compromised by the devastation of Alzheimer’s and the sadness of seeing our friends and loved ones taken too early.

We also wanted to do something that leverages the impact of everyone’s involvement at the firm level, and we know Alzheimer’s is an illness that, unfortunately, everyone can relate to. We believe this kind of public service brings personal satisfaction to each of our lives and makes us a stronger firm.

We are honored to serve as a Local Premier Sponsor for this year’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s. We heartily support the local Alzheimer’s Association in their compassionate outreach and guidance to individuals and families.

Please join us as we walk on Sunday, October 21, in support of the local Alzheimer’s association. Festivities begin at 8 A.M. at the HyVee Arena, 1800 Genessee St, Kansas City, MO 64102). For more information or questions about the walk please call our Team Captain, Joanne Schafer at ph. 913-345-7000.

Donations contributed further the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association, a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization. You can contribute to our team goal by visiting http://act.alz.org/goto/teammeritage.
